I left uni as a systems engineer to take up DBA and later various BI positions at eircom in Dublin, Ireland. I then moved from telco to the gaming industry to join Silicon Valley’s Zynga. I built there an international insights and analytics team. The team specialised in real time insights delivery and developing machine learning capabilities. We focused on text mining algorithms in order to include customer feedback in product development, segmentation and recommendations.
I have over 10 years experience working in analytics and statistics. I worked as a Statistician in the Pharma industry before branching out into analytics and data mining. I’ve worked with: GSK, Nectar, BP, Ford, Whitbread, Wunderman, Jaguar, RNIB, Virgin Media & Channel4. My personal blog is www.myinspirationinformation.com
I am a data scientist and mathematician working for a media agency. At the moment i’m really enjoying Number Theory, Data Journalism, Web Design, Colour Grading and Videography. I previously worked for Channel 4, and I just finished my latest short film which is screening at international film festivals next year. My hobbies include acting, painting and dancing 😉
My interest lies in learning new and cutting edge approaches to gleam the most out of the data I am working with, and learning new programming skills by using varied software based on the job at hand.
I also enjoy learning new skills in my own time and regularly review online courses for new techniques. I have recently been taking courses to understanding basic web development (HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery) and understanding the use of d3.js visualisations. Python is another language which I have taken upon myself to learn in my own time.
I am currently working on a (very) new blog to showcase some of my talents. You can visit this at www.dinnerwithdata.com.
I am a data scientist and founder of analytics consultancy www.dsanalytics.co.uk. I have worked on modelling projects for organisations such as McDonald’s, Twitter, M&S, AlphaSights and The Trussell Trust. I specialise in predictive and causal modelling, data visualisation, time series forecasting and business simulation. Academically my background is in economics – I studied MSc Economics at the LSE. I’m into acoustic guitars and Joni Mitchell.
